Now, more than ever, children, teachers and public schools need your voice and your advocacy. Politicians with little to no experience with public schools or education policy make decisions every day that impact children across the state and the country. Their decisions affect funding, testing policies, grade retention, salaries, graduation requirements and much more. A budget fight is underway in Tallahassee as the House, Senate and Governor Scott are squabbling over spending. In addition, harmful changes to federal Title 1 funding have been proposed which would hurt our most vulnerable schools. Florida's public schools face cuts to their already anemic budgets.
It is up to us to speak up for students, their teachers and their schools. Take a moment to call your elected officials and send them an email. Tell them to pass a budget that properly funds Florida's public schools and to stop harmful changes to Title 1 funding.
Enter the requested information below to be connected to your legislators. Edit the sample email to create your own. Speak from the heart and tell them why public schools matter. Let them know you expect them to support ALL children by supporting their public schools.
